Advanced First Aid

Advanced first aid is a course that educates you on what to do in situations where, without your intervention and help, a horse is not likely to survive. If you live in a region without a vet close by, or you trail ride alone and in isolation, and if you want to be able to handle the extreme situations that may come up, then this course is for you!

Topics to be covered include:
Review of vital signs, common injuries, and ailments
Packing your trail bags and first aid kit
Covering a punctured hoof
Splinting a fractured or broken leg
Freeing a trapped horse
Building a sling that is able to lift or suspend a horse
AND MORE!

*Equine Health and Emergency First Aid is a pre-requisite*
