You protect the public. We protect your peace.
The Groundline Initiative is a trauma-informed Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) program designed to support individuals working in high-stress, emotionally demanding professions—such as first responders, healthcare providers, social workers, educators, and crisis workers. These are the careers that hold the line for others. This program helps participants reconnect to the groundline of their own well-being.
Drawing on the intuitive presence of horses, participants engage in structured, experiential activities that promote emotional regulation, self-awareness, healthy boundaries, and reconnection to purpose. Horses offer immediate, honest feedback without judgment—making them powerful partners in the process of healing, reflection, and personal leadership.
Participants Will Learn To:
●Regulate stress and reconnect to the present moment through grounding techniques.
●Recognize personal limits and set healthy boundaries with clarity and confidence.
●Develop self-trust and emotional resilience in high-pressure environments.
●Rebuild a sense of identity beyond the uniform, title, or professional role.
●Create internal space for rest, reflection, and personal renewal.
Who It’s For:
●Law enforcement, specialized units, law enforcement support roles
●Military (active duty & veterans)
●Paramedics, firefighters
●Lawyers, judges
●Healthcare professionals (nurses, doctors, mental health providers)
●Crisis workers, social service workers, child protection workers
●Teachers, early childhood educators, caregivers
●Veterinarians and animal shelter workers
●Disaster relief workers
●Coroners, embalmers, funeral directors
Why ‘The Groundline’?
In horsemanship, the groundline represents both a literal guidepost (a pole that helps the horse gauge where to place its feet) and a metaphorical one: stability, clarity, and alignment. This program helps participants find their personal groundline again—the internal place of strength, safety, and direction they may have lost while holding space for others.
No prior horse experience is required. All sessions are done on the ground (no riding) and prioritize safety, consent, and the wellbeing of both horse and participant. This program is 4 weeks long, and is one session per week with a mid-week check in call (via zoom or google meets).
